This Photo Gallery shows the process of determining where Frank Robinson's Mammoth Home Run landed. At the present site of the former Memorial Stadium is a beautiful turf field built by the Ripken Foundation. The position of homeplate of the turf field is very close to the position of homeplate of the former Memorial Stadium. Starting from that point, in late February 2016, my family and I made some rough guesses of where the ball went out and where it landed. The first two sunny photos are of that day. We were pretty close. But, we wanted to do better. On May 1st, 2016, my friends Devin Leary and Eric Vangrin from Landscape Architecture firm Human and Rohde met me on a rainy Sunday morning and we used aerial photography, diagrams, photo evidence, and their experience to determine the spot where the homerun landed - 451' and where it rolled - 541'.
